2016-2017 Call For Proposals

Rural & Remote Saskatchewan Funding Stream

The YMCA of Regina (the Community Entity) and the Rural and Remote Advisory Board (RRAB) through the Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) are accepting funding applications for projects in rural and remote Saskatchewan for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.

As part of the Government of Canada’s support for social infrastructure, Budget 2016 is investing an additional $111.8 million to enhance services to address homelessness through the Homelessness Partnering Strategy over two years, starting in 2016/17. The purpose of this CFP is to allocate up to $169,522.88 in currently unallocated HPS funding, along with any other previously allocated funding that may become available.

Since the Rural and Remote Homelessness funding stream in Saskatchewan will be receiving additional funds for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 funding cycles, there will be the option for multi-year funding through this call for projects to function between 2016 to 2018. Funding is allocated per funding year; unused funds cannot be rolled over to the next funding year.

Note: Agreements will be entered into with successful applicants, pending availability of funds.

The Rural and Remote Advisory Board has opted to list 5 funding priorities for the 2016-2017 Homelessness Partnering Strategy Funding:

  1. Capital Investment Projects
  2. Housing First
  3. Support Services
  4. Coordination of Resources and Leveraging
  5. Data Collection

Please Note: The program requirement to afford priority to communities with a population of 25,000 or less has been rescinded for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 funding years; as such, all non-designated communities may be considered for Rural and Remote Homelessness funding regardless of the population.

The deadline for applications is September 12, 2016. Please fill out a separate application form for each of the funding priorities you are applying for.

All approved projects must take place in Regina and must have HPS dollars/funding spent by March 31st, 2017.
